1. Minimum Age
All candidate should have completed 21 years for All post & all communities
2. Maximum Age
All candidates should not have completed as on 01.07.2022
(i).Name of the post:1. For all the posts [except the post of Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes )]
(ii). Assistant commissioner ( commercial Taxes)
a).For applicants possessing any degree
b).For applicants possessing B.L. degree of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission.
NOTE: 2 years age relaxation Applicable for all
* As per G.O (Ms) No.93, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (M) Department, dated 17.07.2018, the Maximum Age Limit has been enhanced by 2 years. As per G.O (Ms) No.91, Human Resources Management (S) Department, dated 13.09.2021, the Maximum Age Limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment has been enhanced by another 2 years.
(i) For Persons with Benchmark Disability : Persons with Benchmark Disability are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above. (Section 64 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and as per Para 5D of “Instructions to Applicants”))
(ii) For Ex-Servicemen :
a) The Maximum age limit is 55 years for the applicants who belongs to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs.
b) The maximum age limit is 50 years for “Others” (i.e.) applicants not belonging to any of the above said categories. [Section 63 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and as per G.O (Ms) No.91, Human Resources Management (S) Department, dated 13.09.2021].
c) The above mentioned age concession will not apply to the Ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category. [Section 3(j) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016]
Education Qualification: As on 21.07.2022
Applicants should possess Any Degree or its equivalent qualification

SCHEME FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION, MAIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND ORAL TEST
1. Preliminary Exam ( single paper) ( Objective type)
2. Main Written Exam
(a). Paper -1 ( Tamil eligibility test)( SSLC Standard)
(b). Paper -2 ,3,4 ( Descriptive type, Degree standard)
3. Oral test( Interview & Records)

i. The questions on General Studies for Preliminary and Main Written Examination will be set both in Tamil and English.
ii. The Main Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%- i.e., 40 marks] in Paper-I and the marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking. Refer G.O.(Ms) No.133, Human Resources Management (M) Department, dated 01.12.2021.
iii. Appearance in all the papers of the Main Written Examination and the Oral Test is compulsory. Candidates who have not appeared for any one or more papers of the Main Written Examination, shall not be considered for selection, even if they secure the minimum qualifying marks for selection.
The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination (ii) Main Written Examination and (iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview.

II. ‘One Time Registration’ using Aadhaar is mandatory before applying for any post. Applicant should register only once in the One Time Registration by paying Rs.150/- as registration fee. Successfully registered One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of registration. All the applications should be submitted using the One Time Registration ID and password registered by the applicant.
